CHAPTER 20: ON HIS DEMAND

Khushi quickly got up and walked him to the bed and helped him to lay back.
"Tum ajeeb ho, Khushi!" he said.
Khushi didn't say anything but she turned around and smiled and so did Arnav at her weirdness.
He continued to study his file as he waited until Khushi finished her food and took her medicine and when he couldn't able to keep his eyes open he drifted to sleep.
Khushi carefully took the file, that he had still in his hands, and put it away on the side table. She then put the blanket on top of him. She sat on the stool beside him and stayed awake as long as she could but she also had dozed off right there beside Arnav.
***
The following morning at the hospital.
Khushi heard Payal calling her.
"Khushi."
"Huh!" she replied in a half sleep.
Payal gently patted her head.
"Khushi, wake up and let's go home!"
Khushi suddenly woke up and rubbed her eyes. Her eyes first fell at Arnav, who was still sleeping and then at Payal.
"Oh, I am sorry bhabi! I didn't realize when I dozed off."
"It's okay Khushi, you are really tired just let's go home and Dhruv will be here!"
"No, bhabi I am fine! I had enough of sleep."
"Hey, bhabi!" Dhruv greeted as he entered the ward.
"What did doctor say?" Payal asked.
"He said bhai will be discharged by tomorrow!"
"It's awesome!"
"Yes, I am done with all the formalities! Payal bhabi take Khushi bhabi home. Please, Khushi bhabi don't say no. I will be here with bhai all the time and you don't worry.  You just go home and take rest if bhai will see you in this condition he will be more worried. For bhai sake please bhabi!"
Khushi looked at Arnav and not at all wanted to leave from there Dhruv insisted her and she agreed upon.
"Thank you bhabi!"
Khushi sadly smiled and left from there with payal.
Whereas Dhruv took the seat beside Arnav. Seeing his brother in the hospital bed made his heart lurched. He took his hand in his. He had never thought that he would ever see his brother in such a weak condition. His eyes had weld up.
"Dhruv!" Arnav said as he woke up from his sleep and saw Dhruv.
"Bhai!" he said as he quickly wiped his tears. "Are you up? I just came. How are you feeling?" he asked with a smile on his face.
"I am okay. Are you okay?" he asked as he sat up and Dhruv helped him.
Dhruv nodded.
"What happen champ were you crying?" Arnav asked him as he looked in his eyes.
"Crying? No, why would I?" he replied cheerfully hiding any sign of pain. But Arnav was his brother he knew him so very well.
"Bhai I am sorry!"
"Sorry, for what?" Arnav asked in confusion.
"I am sorry that I couldn't able to protect you just the way you protected me, Anjali di, Akaash bhai, NK and everyone else in the family. After mom and dad you were the one who never ever made me feel the need of them. What you didn't do for me but in return I couldn't even save you from getting hurt! I am sorry bhai!"
He said between cries as he got up and hugged his brother and Arnav hugged him back.
"Nothing will happen to me as long as I have reason to live, and I didn't know that my champ could cry like a girl!" Arnav joked to cheer his depressed mood.
Dhruv laughed between his cries. "Now stop crying!" he said as he wiped his tears. "My champ is really strong!"
"Not more than you, bhai!" he replied.
Then he looked around the first thing he asked was about Khushi.
"Where is Khushi?"
"Bhai, I sent her home. She was tired just wanted her to have some rest."
Arnav just nodded in reply.
***
The very next day Arnav was discharged from the hospital. The day he got home Khushi made sure she took care of him but she hadn't had told anything to Arnav yet. His health was her priority. Day and night were spent in taking care of him. She always checked that he ate his food properly, took his medicine on time.  Due to the pain in his shoulder she helped him change his clothes and took him to the physiotherapists.
She was giving him, her full time and beside that she was taking care of her baby too.
After the accident, her life yet had taken another turn. The person whom she would hate to see the face of, now had a soft corner for him. Every behaviour of him was crystal clear to her.
But now she had another new problem that she couldn't distinguish between her feelings whether it was just that she cared about him or it was beyond that?
And most of the time she would fight with her inner turmoil like today.
"Khushi!" someone called out. She turned around at the source and got scared.
"Who are you?" she asked. "And how do you look exactly like me?"
"Hey, I am an angel, Khushi!"
"Angel?" She asked confused.
"Yeah, I am an angel in you. Who guide you through the right path! Well what happen why are you so nervous?"
"I am not nervous but confused!"
"Confused about what? That why Arnav matters to you?"
Khushi sighed in shock and opened her mouth, but angel spoke up.
"Khushi, no need to explain me. I know each and everything about you! Do you want to know what has happened to you?"
Khushi stayed quite for a while and was scared to hear as she knew what angel in her had to tell her.
"Admit that you are in love with him!" was a reply from the angel.
"What the?" She hollered.
An angel glanced at Khushi and laughed. "See you even say his signature remark!"
"No, I mean how come I am in love with him? It's just that I care for him?"
"Khushi at least be honest with yourself!"
"I am!" she retorted.
"So, you don't feel anything for him?" Angel questioned her.
"Of course not!" Khushi answered with enthusiasm but she somewhere knew, it was a lie.
"Oh that's great!" Angel replied.
"Huh?"
"Yeah, I am glad that you don't love him because you know after a year he would leave you and you will be free. And don't even fall in love with him. Okay? It will be less painful for you and for Arnav I don't know. But it's okay Lavanya will be there for him. She will take care of her and he will take care of her."
"No!" She screamed in her mind and shut her eyes. The very thought caused a sick feeling in her stomach. Her throat tightened. Hurt flooded over her at the simple mention of Arnav and Lavanya together. She wasn't ready to accept what angel in her had told her. And when she opened her eyes to look around, the angel was nowhere to be seen.
"Khushi, tu pagal hain! (Khushi, you are insane!)," Khushi said as she mentally slapped herself.
But the very feeling that she had grown for him was not at all ignorable. Every time she would see Arnav her heartbeat would go out of her body control, every time he would come in front of her eyes, she would just forget about every other thing but him. Nowadays, she would feel his presence every where.
His simple touch would leave her crave for more,  and whenever he looked at her, her stomach would do weird somersaults and thousands of butterflies immediately come out of their chambers leaving her breathless and if by chance her name left his mouth or she heard his name, she felt her mood bloom like a flower.
And sometimes she would find herself smiling, whenever thought of Arnav would cross her mind.
And the other moment, she would feel like a very part of her missing when she won't find him near her. And yes she was in love with him. And the genuine truth that she was acquainted with but wasn't ready to accept.
Because the very next thought always twisted her nerves. The thought that Arnav wouldn't accept her love. She was afraid of being rejected. He did love her but now he hated her. She was so lost in her thoughts she didn't even realize that Arnav was calling her from past 15 minutes.
"Khushi!" Arnav summoned.
Khushi still didn't reply. In her head she thought that it's just her imagination that she is hearing her.
Arnav again lightly shook her and once again called her name. "Khushi!"
"Yes, Arnav ji! What happen?" She said as she suddenly came out of her dazed state.
Arnav took a sigh of relief when she finally responded.
"Your clothes are on the bed!" she spoke.
"What?" he questioned. He had just came from the office but he had never asked for clothes.
"Yeah, you needed clothes right?"
Arnav furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "Khushi, what clothes? Are you okay? What has happened to you?"
"I am sorry Arnav ji, nothing!"
"Are you sure?"
"Indeed!"
Recently, Khushi's behaviour had alarmed Arnav. Often he would find her lost somewhere deep in her thoughts. And sometimes he had to actually shake her when she won't reply him just like today. But he knew that there is something that was bothering her. Because most of the times she would get up in the middle of the night and scream his name as she had a bad dream.
"Okay, come downstairs Nani want to talk to all of us!" he said as he give her skeptical look.
She nodded and followed him to the downstairs and shook her head at her own stupidity.
"Hey bhabi!" NK greeted.
"Hi!"
"Come Khushi bitiya and Chote!"
"Yes, Nani!" Arnav said as he sat on the sofa and Khushi sat beside him.
"What did you want to talk about?"
"Chote, I was just wondering that since you are better now we should really go out somewhere. In this way, kids too can enjoy and it will be..."
"It's a really good idea! You should really all go out," Arnav replied in between before she could complete her sentence.
"I meant all of us Chote!"
"I am sorry Nani but since last week I haven't gone to work and there is like almost half of the work pending."
"Bhai don't worry we will manage everything like we did before coming here," Akaash spoke.
"Yes, Arnav bitwa. Akaash bitwa is right. And don't you think Khushi bitiya need an outing too?"
"Exactly, what say bhabi?" NK asked.
"Uh...I don't know just as Arnav ji would say!" she nervously replied looking at Arnav.
"See bhai Khushi bhabi won't go either if you decided not to go!"
"I think I am clear I just don't want to go anywhere! You guys should really go out and enjoy. I would finish my work. If she doesn't want to go either it's her decision," Arnav remarked and left from there.
"Arnav bitwa!" Mama ji called but he was long gone.
"Mama ji, I talk to him!"
"Please, bhabi. Try to convince him."
Khushi assured Dhruv that she will try her best and left from there. Arnav was trying to change his T-Shirt but couldn't due to the pain in his shoulder. Khushi came rushing and helped him.
"Didn't I say if you need help call me?"
"I can help myself now!" he snapped and stopped her from helping him.
"Arnav ji please!"
"I said I can help myself!"
"What has happened to you why are you angry, today?" she asked.
"Nothing!" he said as tried to wear his t-shirt but failed. Khushi forcefully stopped him and helped him.
"Why can't you say yes? You know how much the whole family was stressed out after your accident! They didn't sleep well, they didn't eat well just because of you. And it's not that they want to go out and enjoy. They want you to see happy!" Khushi said as a matter of fact and Arnav just listened to her.
"Arnav ji you love your family and just like that they equally love you back! If you have decided not to go because of me and if you don't want me to go with you guys it's fine I won't go. I would stay back," Khushi said as she was really hurt. She couldn't able to control her emotions and her eyes had welled up. When she was done helping him change his t-shirt, she turned around to wipe her tears. That's when Arnav realized that what he has done. "Khushi, no I didn't mean that...I just can't go that's why...Look I am sorry! It's not that I don't want you to go. Actually it's nothing like that. Why would I want you to not to go with all of us?"
He walked around so that he could face her. "Seriously, I just didn't mean that. Okay, we all can go!" he said without any further thought.
"It's okay Arnav ji. I don't want to force you!"
"No, Khushi you haven't forced me. I am sorry. I was stressed over all the work! Please, Khushi!" Arnav apologized and he really meant it. "Okay, let's go we can tell this to family!"
*** The living Room***
The whole family rejoiced when Arnav told them that he is ready to go with them.
"Thank you bhabi!" NK said happily.
Khushi gave him a smile.
"Okay, Chote we have decided that we all are going to our farmhouse!"
"Yeah, that's a good idea," Arnav answered back and looked at Khushi and she smiled at him. "So, when we have decided to go?" he further enquired.
"You say when you want to go?" Mami ji asked.
"Uh-today is Monday we can go this Wednesday!"
"Yeah we all need to pack our stuff too!" Payal spoke.
"Awesome, you know bhabi you will seriously love our farmhouse. It's away from the hustle and the bustle of the city, in a calm place. The landscape is amazing," Dhruv told her.
And Khushi was already excited. "Yes, bhabi. Should I tell you something exciting?" NK asked.
"Uh-huh!"
"We were like little at that time when we all went together at dadi's farmhouse. You know what all of us did?"
"How would she know crazy?" Dhruv asked.
"Oh yeah. How would she know?" NK laughed. "Okay, I tell you. Bhabi me,  Dhruv bhai and Akaah bhai sat on the back of donkeys and rode on them in the whole village," NK said laughing out loud. "And Nanav bhai..."
Arnav who was just first busy talking to Mama Ji about work his ear stood up as he immediately looked at NK angrily. "Shut up NK!"
"Common bhai! Bhabi Nanav bhai sat on the back of a cow!" NK revealed and Arnav's face turned red in embarrassment.
"You want to see that picture? Wait I show you! I have that saved on my phone!"
"NK one last time I am warning you!" Arnav said furiously. NK ignored his warning and he was going to show his pic, in which he was sitting on the back of cow and riding on it, Arnav snatched the phone.
"Dad see he is not returning my phone!"
NK complained.
"NK stop it why are disturbing him?"
"Dad I want to show bhabi our childhood pictures!"
"Arnav bitwa let him show them!"
"Mama Ji those pictures are stupid!"
"Common bitwa! It's okay! Just give me the phone!"
"But mama ji!" he protested. But he was too late NK snatched it back from him and showed it too Khushi. The moment Khushi saw his picture she just couldn't stop her laugh. Her stomach hurt laughing. And everyone broke out laughing too when they saw the picture.
"Khushi bitiya you have no idea how naughty these all kids were!" Nani said.
"Yes, Khushi bitiya one day they opened all the chains of cows that we kept and ran from there! After complete 12 hours Ramu kaka, the care taker of our farmhouse, searched for all of them and got them back to the farm," mama Ji told.
This time even Arnav couldn't hold back and even he laughed out loud like nobody has seen him laughing ever. Almost everyone's eyes filled with tears and joy. And Khushi just couldn't help but just see him laughing. It was one of the best moment for her to see a beautiful laugh on his face.
"Arnav ji I hope that you always keep laughing like this!" Khushi wished. "And I hope that I could give you reasons to smile! But before than that I have to tell you about Rahul. Because I don't want any problems in my relationship!"
"Okay, today we are going out for dinner!" Mami Ji said. "Let's go kids get ready we are leaving in an hour!"
"Bhai!" Dhruv spoke.
"Yes!"
"Bhai can we talk?"
"Of course, what's the matter?"
"NK, Akaash bhai!" Dhruv said and all four of them excused themselves from there.
***Security Room***
"What happen is everything alright?
"Bhai, I think this is the right time to talk about the last week incident!"
"Yeah, what about it?"
"Bhai did Shoan has anything to do with Khushi bhabi? I mean any conflicts?"
Arnav's blood boiled by just hearing his name.
"Bhai I am sorry we didn't tell you anything about the last week incident!" Dhruv told him.
"And before talking to Khushi bhai we wanted to talk to you. Last week Shoan  had made Khushi and someone else you his target!"
"What?" Arnav asked in shock.
"Yes, bhai. Shoan was the one who targeted Khushi. He was the one who shot at the chandelier," Akaash said.
"Bhai Karan believes that there were two people who tried to make you and bhabi their target! He is sure about Shoan that he attacked Khushi bhabi.
"How dare he do that? Didn't you catch that b**tard?"
"Bhai he was killed on the same day of the incident!" Akaash answered.
"But bhai there was another person present who made you, his target! Unfortunately, he just ran away before police could get hold of him!"
"Rahul!" The very first name came into Arnav's mind. The very next question he asked to himself was "Did Khushi new about it? And for all this time she didn't say anything!"
It was him, who knew how much he was controlling himself.
"Do you know who that person could be?" Akaash asked.
"No!" was Arnav's answer.
***
Everyone left for the dinner. Arnav told the family that he and Khushi will come in their car, since Khushi was still getting ready. But he had something else in his mind.
Khushi was in her room, although she had said agreed to go outside but she wasn't feeling well. In the last hour, she had vomited four times. She had just come out of the washroom when Arnav furiously opened the door.
Khushi got scared. "Arnav ji, are you alright? You scared me!" she said sounding as normal as she could but her sickness was taking toll on her. She couldn't even stand properly.
Arnav slowly walked into the room, storing his anger inside the back of his mind. His phone rang and when he looked at the screen it was Akaash's, he picks up and answer it. "Hello, Akaash. Actually me and Khushi won't be able to come. I am not feeling well...no nothing to worry about I have pain in my shoulder...no it's okay...you guys enjoy!" and he switched off the phone and threw it on the bed.
Khushi was concerned about Arnav's health now. "Arnav ji what happen are you okay? Do you want to see the doctor?"
Arnav just looked at her. "No, Khushi I am fine. Just didn't feel like going!"
"Then you should have told Akaash bhaiya the whole family will be worried."
"It's my family you shouldn't be worrying about that," he snapped but still he maintained the calmness in his voice.
"What are you saying Arnav Ji?"
"What you just heard? You act so innocent like you don't know anything!"
Arnav's way of talking was so terrifying, that it made Khushi tremble.
"I didn't get you, Arnav ji!"
"You didn't know your bhua ji knew Rahul was married, you didn't know that he was married!" Arnav said as he circled around Khushi. And when he was standing right behind her he stopped. He leaned closed to her. He slide his hand around her stomach and in one swift motion, pulled her towards himelf. She gasped at his sudden action. He further dangerously leaned closed to her ear and whispered "you didn't even knew about the night I got shot Rahul was present at the party. In fact, he tried to kill me. Was it your and his plan?"
Khushi's eyes were left wide open, fear had dissolved like a solute in her blood and it rushed violently in her veins, shaking her every sense. She took no time and turned around to face him. "No, Arnav ji! I swear that I didn't know Rahul was married but I did know that Rahul was here at the night of the reception party," she said not looking at him.
Her statement to his question was enough to raise his anger but instead he stilled, it was like the world around him had suddenly doesn't even exist.
"Arnav ji, I was going to tell you about him. But was just waiting!"
"Waiting for what?" his loud growl echoed in the room.
Khushi trembled at his ferocity.
"Waiting for me to die and could tell my dead body? So that you could get free?"
"No!" Khushi replied. "No, Arnav Ji! I was going to tell you everything at the hospital only!"
"Stop lying Khushi!"
"I am not lying Arnav Ji!" she clutched his t-shirt. "I am not lying you! I swear Arnav Ji!" she said as she weeped. "Arnav ji your anger is justified and I know it's my mistake I should I have told you. But Arnav ji I was scared to tell you."
Arnav freed his t-shirt from Khushi's hand and moved away from her.
"Khushi, don't make up these stories why don't you just say that it was your plan? Or you wanted to save your..."
"Please, Arnav ji!" she said in disgust.
"I can't save the person who could stoop so low. I can't save the person who had lied me. I can't save the person because of whom Anjali di's life lost her child. At the night of our reception party, Rahul was here. He told me that you wanted to kill him and he wanted me to go with him."
"If I haven't told you would have you gone with him?" he asked in a plain voice.
"No, never!" Khushi replied without any doubt. "Arnav ji! If I would have done that and come to know about him I would have died Arnav Ji. Seriously believe me Arnav ji I am telling you the truth. Before I could tell you he was he had done what he had have come for. And when you were in the hospital I knew that he was here in the basement. I don't blame you for thinking that I was the one who ruined Anjali di's life because my own bhua ji was part of it. She kept me in the dark too," Khushi said panting as again she felt dizzy. But still she did try to gather herself.
One after another Khushi had told him everything now. And he attentively listened her. "Arnav ji I was going to call the police but he was too quick he hit me and ran from there!"
Arnav stood like a pillar in front of her and that's what she was afraid of. She was afraid how would he react.
"Arnav ji please say something," she said as she came closed to him. But he took one step back from her and turned on his heels to leave from there.
Beads of sweat had formed on Khushi's forehead. Until, now she had managed herself but she no longer able to keep pace with her body. She saw Arnav's back but it got blurred as he slowly continued to walk weakly. Nausea again hit her and the cramps in her stomach were unbearable.
Before Arnav could leave from there he heard loud thud. "Arnav ji...Ahhh!"  Khushi cried in pain.
He came out of his trance and immediately turned around to see what has happened to her. The moment he turned he saw her lying on the floor, her hands were tightly clenching her stomach, and her body curled into a ball.
"Khushi!" he shouted back and bolted towards her. Seeing her like that on the floor made his heart felt a jerk.
"Khushi...Khushi what happened?" he asked as he put her head in his lap.
She was of no state to speak and kept on wincing.
"Arnav ji, our baby!" she choked on her words.
Arnav once again went into numb mode.
"Baby?" Arnav asked in confusion. "Khushi you are pregnant," more than a question, it was a statement in itself.
Khushi's cramps had not yet subsided that she quickly got up and kept her hand on her mouth as she felt strongest urge to throw up. Arnav immediately fetched a glass of water that was kept on the table and went to the washroom. "Khushi!" he said when he saw her crazily throwing up in the toilet seat. Arnav had no idea what he should do. He stood beside her and rubbed her back to make her comfortable. He wrapped his arm around her and Khushi did need that because she felt that her knees would give out. When she was done, she held Arnav's shoulder for support as she felt dizzy. "How are you feeling? Are you okay?" he asked and made her drink water.
She nodded weakly in response. He quickly picked her up and took inside the room and laid her on the bed. He ran here and there as he had no idea what to do.
Tears in Khushi's eyes were making it hard for her to see his shocked face. He finally sat beside Khushi. He stayed quite for a while as he was thinking what to say then he slowly turned to her. "Khushi, my child!" he innocently asked. Khushi's heart filled with happiness the moment she heard him saying "my child!" She felt unweight able load she carried on her shoulders suddenly lightened. And she did feel guilty of hiding it from him.
But again there was a change in his behaviour.
"Khushi you knew you were pregnant?"
This time Khushi's sickness seriously drowned her.
"Arnav ji, I was going to tell you but!"
"But what Khushi? You knew since last 2 weeks didn't you when you fainted at the temple?"
"Arnav ji, I was angry at that time and just couldn't able to tell you," she felt the pang of guilt rising in her throat.
He was broken, disheartened. He stood up and walked backwards until he hit the bed and again lazily sat on it. "Arnav ji, I am telling you the truth!" Arnav didn't say a word and moreover he was no state to say anything.
When he dug back in the memory lane he associated the present situation with the past. His sister had done the same mistake as Khushi. They both tried to take the situation in their hands without telling anyone.
He believed Khushi that she was telling him the truth. He believed her but why did she hide it from him? His sister hide the truth from him. What did she get? She lost her child. And Khushi?
Arnav stood up and the very thought had made him drown in panic. He absentmindedly walked out of the room. Khushi got out of the bed and ran after him.
"Arnav ji where are you going? Please listen me Arnav ji, I didn't hide anything from you on purpose. I didn't want to tell you because I feared that you won't believe me. I couldn't gather the courage to tell you. I didn't want to loose you Arnav ji because I love you. I have lost my family but I didn't want to loose one that I was left with. I didn't want to loose you. I don't know when and how but you have become my need," Khushi wailed as she opened her heart in front of him. When no longer her legs able to held her weight she fell on her knees crying. Arnav couldn't register that she had confessed her love for him she just had called him his family. And he too fell on his knees in shock in front of her.
And he just stared at her as she wept.
"I love you!" that Khushi just said to him buzzed like music in his head. But he believed that he doesn't deserve it. He felt disgust at himself!!

CHAPTER 19B: ON HIS DEMAND

(TUM AJEEB HO)

"Bhai I am sorry seriously I have no idea what happened! But bhai Khushi bhabi was really worried about you. She hasn't eaten anything. Nani, Payal bhabi, mom forced her to eat, but she didn't. Please make sure she eats something and her medicine."

NK's revelation had made Arnav concerned and he did has to ask her how did she end up in the basement? And how did she get hurt?

***
Immediately when NK came Khushi thanked God thousand times that he saved her from giving the answer to Arnav that she wasn't to give at this point by any means and she decided to leave from the general ward as soon as she could and went straight to the washroom to calm her violently beating heartbeat.

"What has happened to me?" she thought. "Why couldn't I able to control my feelings in front of Arnav Ji?" Khushi asked herself.

She paced back and forth in the washroom in nervousness. "Why I felt out of this world when Arnav Ji asked me did I worry about him?"

"Khushi don't think of it too much it was just a random question that's it!" She said as she tried to convince herself. "Yes, it was. Of course, it was. He just asked me randomly!" She convinced herself as she continued to pace back and forth in the washroom.

She was thinking too much and now her mind was surrounded with all the thoughts that weren't good for her. There were even more serious things she had to tell Arnav, the news of her pregnancy and about Rahul.

And both topics had taken toll on her. Her relationship with Arnav was at the very fragile point and for the very unknown reason she didn't want to end up.

"Arnav ji, I don't know why but I want to save our relationship. Even if I won't be I would try my best to return the happiness that you had lost because of me," she promised herself.

"How would he react when he would get to know about her pregnancy!?"

And it was solely the matter of chance and fail and win situation and at the same time fact that she won't be able to hide it from not only him but from everyone."But why would she hide it?"

Of course it was his baby, and he was the one who wanted it.

"What if he won't believe me?" thought born in her mind. "What if he won't even remember the night? And what if he thought that it's not his child but..."

"No!" She shook her head. And her body trembled in fear with her very own thought. Her worries were consuming her.
Further she thought harder it got. She was being trapped into her own web of thoughts.

"Why it has to be hard all the time? Please, Devi Maiyan help me. You are also a mother please understand and you understand a problem of a mother. Please, DM! Give me the courage so that I could tell Arnav Ji that he is going to be a father."

When she had hardly recovered from the first thought another came into her mind about Rahul.

"How would I tell Arnav Ji can't about Rahul? No, I can't tell him at the moment when he himself is not okay!"

"Don't be a fool Khushi just go and tell him!" Her angelic voice told her, but the demon voice in her totally contradict her angelic voice as usual. "No, Khushi if you would tell him, he would blame you for everything!" her demon voice shrieked.

"No, Khushi if you won't tell him, as soon as possible, then you will be in trouble," angelic voice said.

"That's so stupid. Khushi don't tell him and eventually one day he will get to know. And by then you will already had proved your innocence to him then tell him."

"No, Khushi by not telling him you will create problem for yourself and of course for him too. Rahul could hurt your and Arnav's baby once he get to know about it. And remember he has actually tried to kill Arnav!"

"Common Khushi you don't even need to do all this! He doesn't deserve you! I would say don't even tell him about your child. Remember he forced you. How come it's his child?"

"Khushi, you know why he has done all this? As much you are he was a victim too!" Khushi Angelic told.

At one point their arguments had caused Khushi's head spin and it ached more than she could. So she herself had to scream to bring both voices in her head to a halt.

She was more confused and troubled then before. And couldn't decide what she should do?

She was too occupied in her thought that she had forgotten that NK was waiting for  her. So, immediately freshen up a bit and went to the general ward.

***
@ The General ward

"Hey, bhabi. You back!"

"I am sorry NK it took me so long."

"Oh, common bhabi I am fine...please eat something and have your medicine. I see you in few more hours. Take care!"

"See ya bhai and you take care too!"

The moment NK left, a complete silence fell in between them.

There was so many things they had to tell each other yet they didn't know where to start.

There were unspoken words that had to be conveyed, but they kept quite.

They looked at each other, expecting from one another to speak, but none of them found the courage.

Khushi simply walked to the nearby sofa and sat on it. Arnav opened to say something but he snapped shut his mouth.

"Khushi!"

"Huh!?" a quick reply left Khushi's mouth.

"Please, eat something!" he replied back.

"I am not really hungry right now!"

"Khushi, EAT THE FOOD!" he repeated himself  sternly.

And Khushi could sense the very ASR in his voice.

"Arnav ji but..."

"And YOUR MEDICINE!" he further said without even letting her finish her sentence.

He took the file that he had asked Dhruv to bring from him and started reading it.

"Arnav ji are you going to do the office work in the hospital?"

"You just do what I have told you!"

Without any further argument she took the tiffin box that was on the table, in front of her. It was a lie that she wasn't hungry in fact she was so hungry that her stomach was growling, and it made weird funny noises. And she was afraid what if Arnav hear those noises? But all fears evaporated into the air as her mouth watered just as slowly the scent of her favourite food hit her olfactory senses.

She took no time and opened all the tiffins one by one. Her favourite ladyfinger vegetable, rice, kadai paneer, aloo gobi just wow and perfect for her, and all went into her plate.

One after the other she took morsel of chapati in her mouth and didn't even wait to chew the previous once properly.

Arnav first of all was busy reading the file but when he looked at her just to make sure she was eating.

Her face was all stuffed with food, he was astonished but more than that he was afraid that she would choke on her food.

"Khushi!" he spoke up in alarm but she was too busy eating than hearing him what he had to say.

But he didn't know that it was Khushi's trademark way to eat, whether she was hungry or not, that he had never seen before. Because for long time she hadn't been eating properly at all.

A lump had formed in his throat that he swallowed hard looking at her.

But when she didn't hear him he raised his voice.

"Khushi?"

Khushi got scared. She quickly swallowed her food that she had in her mouth and cleaned her hands with the Kleenex.

"What Arnav ji?" she asked as she quickly got up from her seat and in quick strides walked to him.

"What happen are you okay? Are you in pain? Should I call the doctor? What tell me what has happen to you? DM, didn't I tell you that you should take rest and here you are doing all this work?" she said angrily but with concern and snatched the file from his hand.

"Oh, Gosh you are in pain and you are reacting all fine and still want to work...Wait I call the doctor!"

"Khushi, calm down! Nothing has happened to me! I am fine!"

"Then why did you scream my name?"

He just rolled his eyes. "Can't you eat slowly?"

"Oh! You scared me Arnav Ji!" She calmed down and thrust the file in his hand.

"What?" he asked.

"Nothing!" she replied and went back to her seat and resumed eating, still there was no change in her eating.

"Khushi slow down. What has happened to you? Why are you acting all so weird? Eat slowly!"

Khushi laughed whole heartedly. And Arnav just stared at her face. She looked so beautiful, so angelic. Her laugh was contagious that brought a smile on his tired face.

"Arnav ji don't worry this is the way I eat!" she said as she continued to laugh and swallow her food.

"Get use to it because your wife eat like this only!" words left her mouth without any care but she shut her mouth and she looked at him in shock. And this time she did choke as she coughed badly.

"Khushi!" Arnav said as he got up although he had no energy and quickly walked towards her.

She continued to cough. "Here, drink water!" he said as he took the glass of water to her and made her drink it. Her eyes were red, tears came down her cheeks.

He rubbed her back to make her comfortable and she did feel better.

"Didn't I ask you to eat properly?" he scolded her.

And she started crying and hugged him. "I am sorry!" she sobbed.

"It's okay, Khushi. Ssh! Now come and finish your food!"

"I am not hungry!" she replied.

"Oh yeah, I just saw that," he said with a slight smile and made her sit.

"Arnav ji, I can eat by myself."

"Yeah, I can see!"

"Arnav ji, please! Wait! what are you even doing, here! Shouldn't you be in your bed? Why did you come here? I will eat and I promise I will eat properly!"

Khushi quickly got up and walked him to the bed and helped him to lay back.

"Tum ajeeb ho, Khushi!"

CHAPTER 19: ON HIS DEMAND

@ The RM

Every guest were allowed to go after the complete investigation. Akaash, payal, Nani made sure that they apologized for any inconvenience that their guest had to go through.

"Mr. Shetty, we seriously apologize for all the inconvenience!"

"Don't worry, Mr. Akaash. If this incident had happened in any of our houses or with our family member we are sure we have done the same thing. These are just little things what really matters is Mr. Raizada's life."

"Yes,  there is nothing to worry about. I hope Mr. Raizada is perfectly fine and that's what matter to all of us," Mr. Rastogi assured.

"Thank you so much for Mr. Shetty, and Mr. Rastogi!"

"You guys take care and we will surely go to the hospital to see Mr. Raizada!" Mr. Rastogi said and they left.

"Jaya, jayshree please forgive us for all the investigation and all that!"

"Oh common Deviyani don't even mention that. Just like you are Arnav bitwa's Nani, we are too. Don't worry. It's all because of us, neither we have forced you to give this party and neither this had happened."

"Please, don't say so auntie ji. Thanks for being there in our good and bad times."

"What's real friends are for?" Jaya auntie asked.

"Thank you auntie Ji!"

"Yes, thank you jaya, Jayshree!"

"Don't be so formal now!" Jayshree auntie replied. "I think now we should leave!"

"Okay! See you guys later!"

@The control room
"I can't believe Shoan has done all this, but why he do that?" Dhruv asked.

"Unfortunately, Dhruv he is not the one who tried to kill, Arnav!" Karan replied. (Karan is a C.I.D officer and Arnav, Dhruv, Akaash, NK's best friends).

"What?"

"Yes, you may also be surprised to know it's a work of two people. One of course was Shoan, and the other person who escaped before RM security and police force could even catch him."

"How do you know?"

"Dhruv, the bullet that the doctors took out of Arnav's body is completely different from the one that we found in RM. And that resembles the bullet in Shoan's gun that we found in Shoan's pocket.

"But we heard the noise of gun firing only ones!"

"Yes, you may be right! But the truth there were two. The other shocking thing is that the gun that we found at RM was targeted at the very different angle away from Arnav."

"What does that mean?" Dhruv asked.

"The meaning is quite straightforward. There were two criminals present at the party one had targeted Khushi bhabi and the other one made Arnav his target."

Dhruv was shocked.

"Yes, come I show you!" Karan said and took Dhruv inside the RM.

***
Inside the RM

"There!" Karan said as he pointed his finger at the hole on the wall made by the bullet of the second floor.

"That's where the bullet  hit. And it indicates that the person was standing right in the east and he targeted the chandelier. "

Suddenly Dhruv's mind clicked. "You mean that Shoan is the one tried hitting the chandelier!"

"Yes, you are very right! Shoan had made Khushi bhabi his target. Khushi bhabi was standing right under the chandelier. And at the angle which Arnav got hit it was impossible for Shoan's bullet to hit him. And the second person stood there in the west direction. Before Arnav was successful in moving Khushi bhabi away the person'a  bullet had hit Arnav!"

"Does it mean they all were together?"

"It's quite possible, but not 100% ! Shoan was present at RM for complete three after that he was tracked down and killed. If they were two together why didn't Shoan go didn't with his partner?"

"Karan it's all your responsibility you have to find that second ba**ard."

"Don't you worry Dhruv I will find that person no matter what!" Karan assured.
"But I must say whosoever that person was, he knew each an everything about RM.  About the Control room, as the technician said the main point of the CCTV cables were completely destroyed. How is it even possible despite of such a tight security? He could be Shoan or the other person! I am sorry I am saying this but it's quite possible that it's the work of a person inside the RM!"

"No, Karan I can assure you that nobody could do anything such a cheap act!"

"I hope you are right. I will investigate Arnav and ask him!"

"I have tightened the security. Arnav bhai's and Khushi bhabi's bodyguards are at the hospital with them!"

"That's good!"
---

Khushi stood outside the intensive care unit and looked at Arnav, through the glass, who was lying unconscious on the bed.

Her strength, that she had gathered few seconds ago to see him, had disappeared like a vapour into the air the moment she saw ventilator machine providing artificial oxygen to Arnav's body, sticky pads stick to his chest to trace his heart activity and in addition to that catheters (tubes) were attached to his body that provided nutrients into his body and excreted waste out of his body, further made her heart wrenched and weak as fear took over her.

"You will never be happy...you will rot in hell,"  Khushi's own words that she had said to Arnav had again buzzed in her head and guilt took her peace of mind gradually. She slowly opened the door and got in.

She kept walking towards Arnav and kept her stare at his drained face and the gun wound, that was now dressed with bandages, on his shoulder shook every sense of her, her mind was clogged, and she hadn't realized that her breathing was laboured.

"SCA could have taken his life if the treatment wasn't given to him within few minutes!" then doctor's words buzzed in her mind.

A tight ball of guilt, anger, fear that built in her chest had arisen to her throat.

Her body was denying the strength to support her body that was too heavy with emotions. When she  couldn't able to stand she sat up on the stool, beside Arnav's bed.

A single tear rolled down her eyes, and it fell on Arnav's hand.

She sat their for a while in a complete silence and looked at him, moving not an inch of her gaze from him.

In less then a month the things had taken a huge turn where it was impossible for her to understand, what's even going in her life. She was standing at the point where any person would question the purpose of life and the point of living. But she kept her head high, however, she had failed today.

A month ago, destiny had introduced, a person to her,  known for his ruthless, arrogant nature. A person with a heart of stone, where no sentiments, no emotions existed.

But the circumstances has yet shown a different side of him. His stone heart was nothing, but an armour that he had set as a wall to protect vulnerable heart of his.

The heart that very well knew to beat, the heart that care for its loved ones. The heart that being so ruthless could do anything for the people in his life and even could give his own life.

A heart of a gold. Khushi regretted that why she didn't realize that before? Why she didn't understand his acts when he offered her his help and send her brother  to a good hospital where he would be given good treatment. Why didn't she understand what he meant when he said "Khushi I thousands death every day when I hurt you!" Why he took care of her when he knew that she was the one behind his sister's pain indirectly if not directly?" Why she didn't pay attention when Mary had told her "Khushi...Mr. Raizada has a heart of a gold...circumstances has made him like that," Mary's word rang in her mind. Why did she expect him to ask her why didn't he tell her everything before marriage when she herself just blindly listened to Rahul when he had told her lies that Arnav is the one who had killed his dad?"

The questions were running wild. She didn't know why but she wanted to make him believe that she was innocent! She didn't understand why she felt so much pain seeing him in that situation? Why was she all of sudden he has become her need?

She sat there and battled with her thoughts and asked all those questions to herself to which she hadn't any answer for.

She didn't show any response don't know how long?

But when she came out of her trance, tears came out of her eyes streaming down over cheeks. She took Arnav's hand in her' s and brought it close to her face, to kiss it as she finally spoke.

"You know what," she said. "I hate you Arnav ji, I hate you for everything. I hate you for bearing the pain alone, I hate you for hurting yourself, I hate you for not saying anything when I said so many things to you. I hate you for not saying anything when I excused you of my father's death.  I hate you, but more than that I hate being the cause of your pain. Please, mujhe maaf kardo! I am sorry Arnav ji!" she said sobbing in between each and every question.

Her sobs raked her body, she hadn't have cried this much before, despite of going through so many of the harsh situations even when her father died, than seeing her husband in this situation. She hadn't have felt so weak before than she felt at the present moment seeing him fighting for his life. She hadn't felt this vulnerable, and without Arnav there was no one to care of her. No one!

"I beg you, Arnav Ji talk to me, open your eyes. I need you!" Khushi said as she spoke her mind.

"I want to apologize for everything.  If anything happen to you today I will never be able to forgive myself. Please Arnav ji I want you to be the first person to disclose the news that I am pregnant with YOUR CHILD. Please, Arnav ji why aren't you listening me?" she asked as she slightly shook him but in anger, if by any chance her pleas would hit his ears and he would listen her. "Why don't you just stop your stubbornness and get up? If not  for me then for this little life that is growing in me, for your child, please Arnav ji!" She said and brought his hand close to her womb. "I will die without you. Please, open your eyes!" Khushi again and again begged him to wake up.

***
"Arnav ji!" Arnav heard Khushi screaming his name again and again in the distance.

"Arnav ji!" he again heard his name being called. Khushi's voice was filled with pain as she was in a dangerous situation.

"Khushi!" he heard himself saying, but only realized that his voice was choked. Again he tried but he knew it was of no point as no voice would come out. He wanted to know what has happened to her but he couldn't able to do anything. He tried getting up but became conscious of the fact that his legs were numb as they weren't even there.  He felt a pain in his chest and tried to pick his hands to relieve himself from pain but his hands were chained.

He struggled to free himself but the pain in his chest made his body cry in agony. He shut his eyes in order to bear the pain but when he opened his eyes, nothing was clear, his vision was blurred.  He thought he would die. In actual he knew that he would die.

"Please, Arnav ji save me...I will die," Khushi's pleas in helplessness again hit his ear.

But more than her he was helpless...More he struggled more the pain in his chest grew. More he tried to free himself tighter the chain got, bruising his arms.  Through the blurry vision he saw his chest, in quick few seconds his white shirt was covered in his blood.

Khushi kept on screaming but Arnav was just too helpless he gave up, tears were streaming down his eyes.

"I am sorry Khushi I can't help you!" Arnav sobbed and his back hit the hard floor.

He was dying, every energy was draining out of his body. Numbness swept like a wave over his body, and it was burning like it dissolved in a molten lava.

But then she saw Khushi. She was running as someone was chasing her. And in fact she was being chased, she ran as fast as she could but all of sudden she tripped over something and the person who was following her had caught her.

"No, please don't kill me!" Khushi pleaded in front of the man but he laughed off instead and took her hair in handful fist forcing her get up. Khushi grasped in pain.

"Let go off her!" Arnav tried to yell but as always his voice was choked.

The second  man slapped Khushi's face and it earned her a bruise on her face.  And her lip started bleeding.

Then came the third person out of nowhere and he pointed gun at Khushi.

"Should I kill her?" he asked the other two men.

"Go for it!" the first man replied.

"Please let me go, don't kill me!" Khushi pleaded.

The third man moved his finger to pull the trigger.

That is when Arnav found the hidden strength in himself and freed himself from the chain. A life had returned to his legs and got up and ran but he was too late before he could save Khushi the third man had fired her.
***

"Khushi!" he yelled as he tried to get up but due to his wound he laid back.

"Arnav ji!" Khushi said with concern but a sudden joy had filled her heart.

"Khushi are you okay?" he asked.

His voice was broken, his body was trembling with fear. But Khushi smiled. Her husband had gain conscious. He was actually talking to her. Her grieving heart was filled with happiness.

"I am fine Arnav ji! You are fine!" she said as she cupped her face. But her happiness faded away when Arnav winced in pain.

"Arnav ji please relax I call the doctor!" She said and ran to call the doctor.

Arnav was relieved but that was an understatement he was beyond relieved. When he found himself in a completely different situation, place and time. He thanked God for what he saw was just a dream. But it wasn't a dream Arnav had just defeated his death. He was too close to his but Khushi had saved him.

"Doctor!" Khushi yelled.

"What happen Khushi bitiya?" Mama ji asked.

"Mama Ji, Arnav ji!" Khushi mumbled.

"What happen to him?" NK asked as panic took over him.

"He is fine, NK. He just talked to me," Khushi replied.

There was no end to her happiness. An endless grieve that filled her heart was replaced with pure happiness. She didn't know what to say,  half of the words she just said was just babbled.

"Doctor!" she yelled and Doctor came running.

"Doctor Arnav ji, he is fine! He has gained his consciousness.

Doctor listened to her and went straight to the I.C.U.

"Khushi bitiya let the doctor do his check up then we can meet him!" Mama ji said and Khushi simply nodded.

***
Doctor ran a quick check up.

"Mr. Raizada, how are you feeling now?"

"Ok!" he replied. He was still weak, he had no energy to say anything. The pain in his shoulder was still there. But that didn't matter at all. His Khushi was fine.

"Mr. Raizada you take care and I inform your family they were really worried!"

Arnav nodded his head.

"Mr. Raizada, congratulations Mr.Arnav is perfectly fine," doctor said.

"Can we meet him?"

"Yes, you may but before we have to do few examinations so that we are 100% sure he is perfectly fine."

"Thank you doctor!"

"Anytime!" he replied smiling.

When doctor informed that Arnav was now fine Mama ji called everyone home it was 4:00 AM in the morning but everyone was still awake and mami picked up the phone.

"Hello, Manorama! Arnav bitwa is alright now!"

"That's a wonderful news, I immediately tell everyone at home," Mami Ji said happily.

"Doctors had done check up and they have finally confirmed there is nothing to worry about. In day or two they will discharge him!"

"Thank God! Sasu ma and me had decided there will be a puja at home ones Arnav bitwa get home safe and sound.

"Yes, go ahead!"

"Okay, you keep the phone we all are coming!"

"Alright!"

As soon mami ji hung up the phone she told everyone about Arnav's health. Again the happiness had returned at RM. Everybody finally took a sigh of relief.

@ The Hospital

Arnav was shifted to the general ward. Every member of Raizada family had come. And they were talking to Arnav but Khushi was missing.

Arnav was talking to everyone, but his mind was thinking of her. He wanted to know where was she? But didn't ask instead NK did.

"Dad where is Khushi bhabi?" NK asked.

"She has gone to see Dr. Sharma!"

"Why?"

"She had to ask her something!"

"Oh okay!"

"Oh Nanav bhai you know what I have found my dream girl!"

"Oh really?" Dhruv asked.

"Yeah, you know few minutes ago!"

"Do you even know her? You just saw her and fell in love with her!"

"May I come in?"

"Yaaa!" NK said and looked at the female doctor. His heart fluttered the moment he saw her. "Hiii!"

"Hi!" Doctor replied back. "Just came to check  Mr. Raizada!"

"Dhruv bhai he is the one!" NK elbowed him and ran towards her.

"Oh common, he is perfectly fine! But please check me. Mujhe kus kus ho rahe hain!" NK said and brought his hand in front of her.

"What happen are you alright?"

"No, I am not!"

"I mean what's the matter?"

"Oh, I don't know you do the check up!"

"Okay, let me check!" Doctor replied.

She took his wrist in her hand and checked his pulse.

"Haaae!" NK exclaimed.

"What happen Mr.?"

"NK!" he answered.

"And what's your name?" he asked.

"I am tanya!"

"Oh wow what a lovely name and a perfect match...NK-Tanya...Tanya-NK, just wow!" NK babbled.

"Sorry!"

"Nothing."

"Mr. NK you are perfectly fine!"

"After seeing you I am perfectly fine!" he replied.

"Doctor Tanya please you do bhai's check up he is just crazy!"

Dr. Tanya laughed.

"Excuse me, after seeing such a beautiful girl anybody could get crazy!"

Doctor Tanya blushed and she went to check Arnav.

"Are you single?" NK asked.

"Shut-up NK!" Dhruv said angrily.

"It's okay!" Tanya replied. "No, Mr. NK  I am married and I have two kids!"

This time everyone laughed out. And NK pouted.

"Mr. Raizada you are good to go. You have to stay here for a day and then day after tomorrow you will be discharged."

"Thank you, doctor!" Arnav replied.

"Take-care! See ya Mr. NK!"

NK sadly waved.

"Have you found your dream girl?" Dhruv asked.

"Dream girl a mother of two!" Akaash joked. "Ready made kids!"

"Very funny!" NK said as he slightly offended.

"Oh common guys let's go now. We should really let Arnav bitwa rest." Mami ji said.

Everyone leaves.  Arnav closed his eyes but suddenly opened when Nani called Khushi's name.

"Khushi bitiya talked to Dr. Sharma?"
"Yes, Nani ji!"
"Okay, bitiya you could talk to Arnav bitwa! We all wait outside!"
"Nani Ji you should go home. I am here and don't worry I will take care of Arnav ji! Mama ji please go home and take some rest! You must be tired. "

"I am okay, bitiya!"

"Please!"

"Okay, bitiya you take care of yourself too!" Mama Ji said.

"Yes!"

***
Everyone leaves and Khushi takes a deep breath and close her eyes before getting into the general ward.  She was nervous to go in front of him and she had no idea what she would say ones she get in!

After  fighting with her thoughts she went in. And Arnav looked at her but she looked somewhere else. For the first time she was nervous to face him. Her heart was beating violently against her chest. And same was for Arnav. But his heart felt a strong tug when he saw a bandage on her forehead.

A fresh tears had formed in Khushi's eyes, she bit her lips to keep herself from her crying but more she tried to control them more they came out.

She looked at him. Arnav's heart ached seeing tears in her eyes. He was going to take her name but before him Khushi spoke up.

"I am sorry, Arnav ji!"  Arnav heard her saying and closed his eyes when he heard her broken voice and a pure pain in it.

"I am sorry for everything!" She finally said with enthusiasm but she couldn't able to control the feelings that ran wildly in her mind.

And in quick steps she went close to him and hugged him tightly.

So tightly as someone was going to snatch him from her.

Seeing him fine was a light at the end of the tunnel for her. And she didn't want to deny the feeling that grew in her that, she missed him, she needed him more than she needed to breath.

The last 7 hours were spent in endless pain and it had shattered her more than anything. Finally she felt safe in his arms and she wasn't alone. Her tears fell on his back soaking his bear shoulder. But she made sure that she didn't  hurt him.

Arnav left a sudden sigh, he opened his mouth to say something but he shortly snap shut it. Khushi's breakdown had taken him by surprise. Arnav decided to stay quite. For an unknown reason he let her hug him, he let her cry, he let her to take all the pain through her tears, that she had held inside her little heart. He wanted her to free herself from all the chains of pain and for the first time his mind screamed that she was innocent.

It wasn't like he didn't trust her. Arnav never took any decision in hurry even his decision to marry her. He trusted Khushi more than his own breath. But the evil forces dominated over his love for Khushi.

"I am sorry Arnav ji!...I am  sorry I have given you so much pain...please Arnav ji...give me any punishment...I will happily accept it and...I am ready to do anything that you would ask me but please forgive me!" Khushi said in between her sobs.

"Khushi!" Arnav finally spoke and tried to pull her away but Khushi wasn't ready to move an inch away from him.

"I would have been a living dead if anything had happened to you today, Arnav ji," Khushi said and her sobs were endless and in return it knifed Arnav's heart.

Khushi's confession had left him astonished.

He finally had put his one arm around to comfort her when he no longer take her tears. And Arnav gave the warmth she needed and Khushi did feel better.

"Sshh Khushi! Please don't cry, I am fine," Arnav said.

And Khushi pulled away from the hug. Her eyes were swollen reflecting hours of crying and pain.

Arnav didn't let his unnecessary ego to come in between. He immediately lifted his hand and wiped her tears.

"I am fine! Nothing has happened to me!" Arnav assured but Khushi had gone really mad.

What was next Arnav had to face the anger of his wife now!

"Fine? Do you even have idea how much everyone were worried about you? Nani Ji, mami ji, Mama ji, Payal bhabi, Akaash bhaiya, NK, Dhruv, even gavy and Adi when they came to know about you?" She finished off with whatever she had to say when Arnav asked "And you?" Even though Khushi 'a condition and her breakdown had proved him that how worried she was about him, but he couldn't stop himself and asked.

Khushi's mouth was left open in shock. She couldn't able to decide whether whatever she had heard was just two imagined words, that she just formed in her head or he really asked her that?

"I-Uh!" Khushi stuttered.

Her simple stutter was an answer to his question.

Khushi cursed herself for opening her mouth but thanked god when someone knocked on the door.

"Please, come in!" She said uneasily.

"Hey, bhabi!" NK said.

"NK!"Khushi said.

"Here's the food and your medicine bhabi!"

Arnav looked at her with concern. "Thank you NK! I am sorry you had to come here especially for this."

"Don't worry bhabi budha is always present in your service!"

"Budha?"

"Banda!" Arnav said as he corrected NK.

"Yes, exactly that!"

Khushi laughed. "NK you stay here with Arnav Ji I will be back soon!"

"Sure, bhabi!"

When Khushi leaves, Arnav ask NK "what is the medicine is for?"

"Bhai, after  today's incident  Khushi bhabi collapsed twice."

"And what happen to her forehead?"

"Even I don't  know bhai, bhabi didn't say anything. Dhruv bhai found her unconscious in the RM basement and there I guess she got injured."

"What? Didn't you even guys take care of her? If I was here it didn't mean you guys have forgotten about her!"

"Bhai I am sorry seriously I had no idea what happened! But bhai Khushi bhabi was really worried about you. She hasn't eaten anything. Nani, Payal, mom forced her to eat, but she didn't. Please make sure she eats something and her medicine."

NK's revelation had made Arnav concerned and he did has to ask  her how did she end up in the basement? And how did she get hurt?
