On his demand 2 Chapter 11
Chapter 11 (62)
Arnav scraped back a chair for Khushi, but giving no damn in a vague try to keep up with a public image of both of them being an enemies. Thanks to his tough attitude that worked anytime, at his call.
"Please have a seat."
His said words were rather calm than his actions.
"...give me ten minutes, I shall be back with a cup of coffees," he added in a little low tone. "Anything else you want," he enquired, keeping it still to a low murmur.
"Please come back soon," she said, he smiled briefly looking at a smile that reached her eyes and twinkled in his own two pair of eyes.
"I will not make you wait like other times," he said blinking his eyelashes once. He was already walking towards the counter to make his order.
Khushi caught herself following his path, and a ghost of smile flourished on her face, at the same time she felt little sad that he was trying too hard to make her feel all comfortable and normal.
"I am okay," she said, pretending she was telling it to him and something that she hadn't voiced loudly. "I am happy to live in every situation you are keeping me in."
It never hurt her knowing that more than anyone he was suffering. She wanted to step into a war zone to help him out, and she was afraid he was ready to take her in. Not when it involved risk to be in an unknown territories.
She found couple of people, especially girls looking at him, surprised, surprised if it was real Mr. Arnav Singh Raizada, whom they found too lavish to wander in a coffee shop, ordering his own cup of coffee, instead of his helping hand.
That was his fan following and he got a varied audience, she was skeptical if he was aware of it. For men, he was an undying inspiration, for girls he was a hot as hell. Surely their dreams came crashing in a mere second when he married her. This thought made her laugh to herself. She masked her face with her hands to suppress her laugh. She couldn't deny she felt rather sympathetic than actually being jealous being a dream of millions girls around the globe, for the fact that he was too busy in his own world to pay an attention to any of the girls around.
If she was right even at a moment in his head he would rather be thinking of several thousand ways to find out about the real culprit, this was his priority at the moment, and then about his business.
Business was something he was married to before marrying her. And that, she never thought was coming in her way in anyway. He always had his priorities set.
This was what loved Arnav loved the most in her. She gave him the space whenever he needed. Unlike other woman, she trusted him, and knew the day she has come in his life, she was the only woman he hated, and then madly loved. His hatred was his love. Love for his sister, and then for him.
He had given this relationship a definition that was beyond any misunderstanding or a hatred.
She was happy and proud of him. Because his family wasn't just limited to fifteen members of his own little world, but in his over 25 companies worldwide 20,000 employees were the part of his family. That were, because of him able to feed their own respective families. No wonder why he was idolised.
She wrapped her black shawl around her tightly feeling little cold.
She smiled, as always, she found herself thinking of only Arnav.
Her gaze travelled out the mirrored wall to the busy mall. Leaving Arnav chat away with whomever were interested to talk to him. As her eyes caught the toy store, she already was thinking what she was going to buy for Adhwaya and then for Arnav from the nearby stores, she nearly forgot that their life wasn't as simple as that.
Because she was already thinking of shopping she couldn't help thinking what she will get Arnav. Then found herself in dilemma. She always had tough time understanding what Arnav wanted. He was so busy in his work that he didn't even know about his likings were. She was doubtful if he liked anything beyond his basic needs.
She wished she was able to make him feel special. One day. Because at this point their lives were only welcoming unwanted. She had given thought of the fact that life was unpredictable and for them it was. And she was still trying to get use to the fact.
Their lives will be normal, she believed. She had everyone to put her grief in front of, including him, but till now she had never able to prepare him to tell how he felt of any scenario in his life. He was still afraid to put his feelings completely out in front of everyone.
"Your coffee, Khushi!" Arnav said, bringing her whole world of thoughts closed in a box of her brain. He placed a cup in front of her. She smiled seeing a heart shape made on the top surface of coffee.
She rested her back of her hand under the chin, and looked at him as he grabbed a chair opposite of her, appreciating his little gesture.
"Since when you decided to turn into a romantic husband?" she teased. Arnav was thankful she was asking in a low tone, but he raised his eyebrows at her thinking why she was talking nicely to him when they were suppose to act the otherwise?
"Every time I see you," he said. "It comes naturally to me."
"I am flattered!" she said. "Arnav, we are here in a mall, talking to each other. What if anyone see us together?"
She surprised him by asking this question.
"Then fight..." Words snapped out of his mouth at a speed of light as soon as she was done finishing her sentence.
"I see, you love being in your laad governor image, don't you?" she teased him again.
"Not in front of you."
"You fib a lot...You get mad at every single thing," she complained, "I don't know why but I feel you are trying to be mad for some reason."
"Because you are at mistake..."
"Haww!" her mouth dropped, but it recovered immediately.
"That's true, don't you think so...?" he questioned her.
"See, you are returning back to your laad governor image..."
"Who started first?" he counter-questioned her, crossing his arms on a wooden table in front of him.
"Really? And don't forget that I am still mad at you...You were so rude to me yesterday...and you also were asking me to bring my husband? How inhumane?"
"Why are you bringing that issue here, especially when you know why I did it?" he asked, with a little hint of anger in his tone.
"Whatever..."
"Okay forget all about this, I forgot to tell you as this totally escaped my mind, we are going tomorrow to Mumbai..."
"What?" she jumped in her seat in an excitement, realising she grabbed everyone's attention around her, she settled back in her seat, smiling nervously at people. Looking back at Arnav, she found him frowning. "What...are we seriously going back?"
"Yes!" he said, eating his anger away. "Payal called me and she told me that your son, Adhwaya is kidnapped, I promise I will find him soon," he said looking here and there but her to sound as he was having nothing but business talk.
Khushi for a moment felt as if they really didn't know each other...And realising his act, and realising she did forget that she had to pretend as they didn't know each other. She mentally slapped herself for keeping a memory of a goldfish, her heart beat went wild in fear thinking if she did something to put them both at risk.
"Also, Payal told me that they had gone for his check up when he went missing." He went on.
Khushi tried to keep quite, still looking nervous at his frowned face. She couldn't guess whether it was real or a fake?
"Let's go we are getting late! We have to go to the office and finish everything before we leave back..." he said in a hurry.
She got up too, she grabbed her purse, and the coffee cup, and followed him. "I am sorry if I did something stupid. I totally forgot we were suppose to..."
"It's okay," he said as he looked around, he intelligently got his security to follow both of them. He pressed the button on his Bluetooth to answer Karan's call.
"Karan."
"Yes, Arnav."
"We are leaving to the office, are you done booking our tickets?"
Khushi stared at the white marbled floors that reminded her of the RM office in Mumbai, where for the first she went to meet Arnav for a job.
"Yes, I have."
"Thanks. All good?"
"All good, Arnav, but one thing!" he said. "Arnav, Anjali was admitted to the hospital."
"What?" he asked, and immediately stopped.
Karan was extremely sorry that he always had to call him for some bad news.
Khushi got scared hearing his scared tone, and his abrupt stop. She too came to a sudden stop. She wanted to keep a hand on his shoulder but aware of her surroundings she kept a distance.
"Arnav, please relax down. It's a minor accident. Just a minor accident!" he repeated. "She is alright."
"When this happened? Why you didn't tell me about this early on?"
"It happened yesterday. I am sorry, Arnav. It was just that Anjali asked me not to tell you this. Dhruv was with her..."
"Dhruv? How...how is he?"
"He is okay as well, he got his arm fractured but he is okay, talking, in his senses. They both are home actually."
"Should we worry if it was planned?" he asked, gulping his lump down his throat.
"Anjali and Dhruv are both saying it was their fault instead."
Arnav got hold of his nervousness. But Khushi was still worried and tried to read his face to know if everything was alright.
"Karan, I am hanging up now. But book me a tickets to Mumbai for today."
"Okay, Arnav. I guess your private yet is ready."
"Okay, we get our bag packs ready and leave for an airport," he said and hung up on the phone.
"Khushi, let's go, we gotta go!" he said in a rush.
"Arnav, what happened? And where we have to go?"
"Khushi, we have to go to Mumbai now. Dhruv and Anjali di met with an accident."
"What? How...how are they?"
"Karan said they both are fine, at home, I guess."
"Thank god!"
***
"Di, how this happened?"
Anjali looked at Arnav and Khushi both at their sudden arrival. Whole family came rushing to see as they were finally at home. But sad at the fact that Adhwaya was missing and Anjali and Dhruv were involved in an accident.
Payal and Akaash were the first one to come, they both looked at each other in shock, "Khushi!" she said.
Khushi looked at her and went running to her. "Bhabi!" she tried to keep herself from crying.
"Khushi, come out with me," Payal said and everyone else followed her.
"Chote, Adhwaya is missing."
"Di, I have heard about him. But I have the police sent in search of him. You tell me, how are you? How did you get involved in an accident, and Dhruv? How is he?"
Anjali kept her hand on his hand. "Chote, relax. It was just a minor accident. I was making a right turn, and from the other hand this auto rickshaw was coming."
Arnav didn't know why? But he was skeptical. He highly doubted if she was telling him the truth.
"Chote, I am fine..."
"Where is Dhruv? And how is he doing?"
"He is in his room with NK."
"Di, I will be right back," he said, he rushed to see him with his own eyes, until then he wasn't going to be convinced no matter what.
***
Arnav placed his head in Khushi's lap. She caressed his hair. Feeling her hands massaging his head, he felt relieved was an underestimation. He thought she had a magic in her hands that had a unrealistic powers to put soul in an unbelievable peace. But he was afraid her arms must be tired.
"Khushi, since how long we have to find a way to meet like this at night?" he asked. Khushi could understand his pain, but she had no solutions, but Arnav already had.
He held her hand to stop her.
"What happened, Arnav?"
"You must be tired!"
"I never get tired when it comes to you," she whispered, and kissed his forehead. She continued.
"Khushi, I am thinking that Anjali di need to have a life partner," he said.
Khushi was surprised how he stole her thought, but she was scared to put it out in front of him.
"Arnav, before you suggest me any name, shall I suggest a person who will be best for her?" Khushi said, nervously, and being little unsure if she should say it.
"Go ahead, Khushi."
"Karan!" she suddenly said; and regretted saying it. She wish she could take her words back.
Arnav looked at her. She was unsure if he was angry or thinking on it.
"Arnav, I think Karan loves Anjali di."
"What?" he sounded angry.
"Don't be mad, it's just what I think, Arnav."
For him Karan was not more than a friend. Thinking of him as Anjali's husband was bit uncomfortable image in his head.
"Arnav, we know Karan very well. We know what kind of person he is...you had been friends since quite long. Even Anjali di knows him."
She tried to compherend him when all the while he was thinking if it was a right thing to do.
"Khushi, I am not sure if Anjali di will agree to it," he decided to break his silence, Khushi was relieved to find a usual calm in his tone. He sat up, and laid on a bed. Khushi too laid back, and hugged him.
"We can get Mami ji or Nani to talk to her."
"Don't you think instead of ma or nani ji, it will make more sense if you will talk to her, she will listen it to you."
She was right, he thought. but he was afraid to put proposal in front of Anjali. He laid on his side and placed his hand on her belly. "Khushi, idea is not bad,"he agreed. "I am afraid the results will be not good."
"I am with you, Arnav, we can try."
He let out a deep breath, Khushi waited for him to say something. He leant in and kissed her briefly to gather his self confidence, trust, and get rid of his fear.
"I will be okay as long as you are with me, and if it went well I will bring Adhwaya back, since we are back. I promise it will be by tomorrow."
Khushi couldn't stop herself from crying. She covered her eyes. Arnav looked at her as her overwhelmed emotions bursted out.
He uncovered her eyes and wiped her tears. "Don't cry, Khushi. And won't you mind knowing, with whom Adhwaya is?"
She looked at him with teary eyes. "Who?" she asked.
"Bhua ji, and Aryan at penthouse in Bandra."
She was shocked as in not in a world she ever had ever guessed what might be the safest place for their son and to be with.
"They are taking good care of him."
"I love you, Arnav!" she burst into tears once again and hugged him tightly. He smiled and kissed her shoulder.
On his demand 2 Chapter 10
Chapter 10 (61)
Khushi pinched Arnav's nose and giggled when he got irritated in his sleep. "Khushi, Kya hain?" (What is it?")
He turned on his side and wrapped his arm around her shoulder and pulled her towards himself. "Let me sleep, and you sleep too, Khushi," he muttered.
Khushi shook her head. "It's not time to sleep but wake up, Arnav."
"What's the time?"
"9:00 am."
He immediately opened his eyes and leant on his arm to look at the clock. Khushi laughed, as she sat back up.
He looked at her angrily. "Khushi its 6:00 am."
"I know."
"You serious, I was sleeping peacefully."
"Arnav, last night you didn't let me sleep, now I won't let you sleep either."
He tossed his head back on the pillow and closed his eyes. "That's why I am really tired."
She shook his shoulder.
"Arnav, please get up. Why are you fussing like a child? You have to work out."
He cried.
"Khushi, no. No workout please."
"Arnav, you have not exercised for the past seven months."
"Khushi, I am fit and fine," he argued.
"I seriously don't want my child to be like you, lazy."
He opened his eyes. "You called me lazy?" he looked at her offended.
"Of course. You should learn from your son. He sleeps at exact 9, and at sharp 6 he is up. Right now he must be up and Nani already must have given him a bath."
He huffed. "Khushi, please only for an hour. Please, I want to sleep."
Khushi smiled, and ran her hand over his hair. She deeply kissed his hair. "Okay, you sleep."
"You come and sleep too."
"Arnav, I have already taken bath, now I am going to prepare a breakfast. Karan is already up, he must be waiting downstairs."
"Karan." Arnav muttered realising he had to talk to him. He sat up on the bed. "He is up? Good."
"Khushi, you prepare breakfast, I will be downstairs in ten minutes."
"Arnav, abhi nahin sona aapko?" (Now you don't have to sleep?")
"No," he said and kissed her temple. "Khushi, I like the smell of your shampoo, and your hair colour."
Khushi smiled, and then giggled "Arnav, shampoo and hair colour?" she asked, still laughing, as it was the first time he had noticed it in two years.
"Yes, I never get to tell you this. I realised your hair has two different shades. Chocolate brown and black."
"Thank you, Arnav!" she said when he took out his clothes from the cupboard.
"You are welcome, my sweet wife. You get ready too I will take you to the site seeing today," he said and went into the washroom.
"Arnav, when we are going back to Mumbai?" she said but her words were unheard as he had already gone inside the washroom.
"Khushi, sorry did you say anything?" he asked.
"No, nothing, Arnav," she said. "Nothing..."
She sighed, and took Arnav's phone from the night table and opened the photo app. She looked for Adhwaya's picture. Tears formed in her eyes seeing her baby. She wanted to see him and being aware that they were in Darjeeling for a purpose, she knew she had to control her emotions. She decided she will Skype later in a day. But for now she would have called and asked how he was doing, but Karan showed up. He knocked on the door.
"Karan, hey."
"Hi, bhabi. Sorry if I disturbed you."
"No, Karan, not at all. Arnav has just gone in to the washroom to get freshen up."
"Perfect, I wait downstairs then."
"Okay, I come as well, I am sorry to make you wait for the breakfast."
Karan shook his head. "You don't have to be sorry about anything, bhabi. It's only 6:30 am."
"Karan, should I ask you something?" she asked as they headed out of the room.
"Y-yes, bhabi. Go ahead! Please."
"I don't know why I feel Arnav, and you, know who is in the house trying to hurt Arnav or both of us."
"Bhabi, I wish I had answers for this," he said almost immediately. "It's very unfortunate that we don't know anything who is doing all this."
Khushi nodded her head in understanding.
"Karan, please don't tell this to Arnav that I asked you this. He will be worried that I am worrying about all this."
"Don't worry, bhabi. I won't tell him. But we are doing everything we can. Criminal can't be hidden for much longer. It can take longer but defiantly for forever. Everyday we are progressing even though we get evidence that are not even important. We will make it for our use."
"I hope everything is crystal clear very soon."
"We hope that too, bhabi."
"Khushi, come to the room."
Khushi and Karan both stopped, she smiled as she looked towards her room. "I will be back, Karan."
"Don't worry, bhabi," he said. "Go ahead."
Khushi walked back to their room. The moment she entered the room, she was pulled in. "Arnav, what are you doing?" she asked, afraid. Arnav closed the door, and locked it.
"Arnav, may I know aap Kya karne ki koshish kar rahe hain?" (May I know what you are trying to do!"
She got little self conscious when he didn't answer, but instead kept on looking in her eyes without saying a word. Dangerous.
"I love when your heartbeat goes wild the moment I come close to you."
"Who said it is because of you?"
He let out a brief chuckle. "For whom else it could be?"
She pressed her lips together. And let out a throaty moan when without any warning he moved down to kiss her neck.
"Arnav, this is not the right time."
"There is no right or wrong time for this!" he said, in a husky tone.
"Arnav, please understand."
He bit her.
"Understand what?"
She grabbed her veil in her clenched fist.
"Arnav, please let me go."
"Shall I?"
He placed kiss along the neck like, slowly, deeply.
"Please..."
He trailed tongue at the same place be kissed, and then blew air on top of it. She knew she was going to loose every control on herself.
"Make yourself clear, Khushi," he told her.
"Arnav, please. Karan is waiting downstairs. You have to do workout too."
"Sorry, this is my workout."
She held his waist, and he moved back to look at her closed eyes, heavy breathing. He placed his arm against the wall.
"You are beautiful, Khushi," he muttered as softly he could.
She opened her eyes and was astonished to look into his eyes that every time had to say a new story except the love that was always there in his eyes. "But for me the most beautiful person is standing in front of my eyes."
"Khushi, why did you fall in love with me?" he asked. "What did you see in me despite knowing how I behaved with you?"
She knew why he was asking the same question again. "You are asking me this because you doubt that whatever is happening is hurting me?"
"I don't know, Khushi," he held her hand. "I don't know. Every time I look in your eyes, I see of our uncertain future. Khushi, why don't you leave me?"
Pain on her face turned into a anger with a clear distinction. "Have you gone insane?" she asked. "What do you mean, leave you?"
"Look, Khushi, please, don't be mad. I was just..."
"What you mean you were just? Arnav, if I had to leave I would had left you when you hated me. I didn't leave you then when you said you doubted me having affair with Rahul. Why now? Tell me to die, Arnav, not to leave you!"
"I am sorry, Khushi. I don't doubt that you love me. But I can't see you in pain."
"Really? Really you must have said so because you think I don't love you and it will be so easy for me to forget you."
He shook his head and cupped her face. "No, Khushi, it's not like that, even you know that."
"No, after this I think I don't know anything about you. Because I didn't know that you even will say that to me," she said, and pushed his hand away, and walked out of the room.
He hit his hand in the wall and ran after her. "Khushi, look I am sorry."
But she was in no mood to listen to him.
"Stupid me!" he said, and cursed himself.
Khushi wiped her tears and walked into the kitchen when her phone rang. She sniffed and cleared her voice when RM's phone flashed, she picked up the phone. "Hello!" Payal said.
"Hello, Payal bhabi."
"Good morning, Khushi. I hope I didn't disturb your sleep."
"No, bhabi. I was up for quite sometime now. In fact I was going to make a breakfast and also call you."
"Khushi, what happened? Why is your voice heavy? Are you sick?"
"I am fine, bhabi. Nothing to worry about."
"Oh!"
"Bhabi, how is everyone at home? Adhwaya? How is he?"
"He is perfectly fine, Khushi. Luckily he has been playing well with the family members and kids."
Khushi took a sigh of relief. "Bhabi, you don't know how much tension free you have made me. I was so tensed thinking what if he was missing me."
"You should be relieved, and don't worry. He is fine."
"What is he doing now?"
"Right now he is sleeping, Khushi. Last night, Adhi and Gavy too slept late as they were playing."
"And how is everyone else at home?"
"Everyone is fine, Khushi. You tell me how is Arnav?"
"Don't talk to me about him, bhabi."
"Are, what happen?"
"Nothing, bhabi, you know him. Arrogant."
Payal laughed. "Khushi, what did he do now?"
"Don't ask me. He is just...Arggh...I tell you...I don't want to talk about him..."
"Okay, baba. Don't. Tell me when you guys are coming?"
Khushi relaxed herself down. "I don't know, bhabi. Only your sweet brother-in-law, Mr. Raizada, knows when we are coming back. I seriously don't want to see his face at the moment."
"Khushi, calm down baba."
"I am sorry, bhabi, where I start talking about that arrogant brother-in-law of yours."
"Haha...It's always a treat to hear or see your sweet little cute fights...Khushi, okay I keep the phone. And I forgot to tell why I called."
"Why you called, bhabi?"
"Khushi, today we have to take Adhwaya to the hospital for the injection."
"Oh yes. I totally forgot about that. Thank you, bhabi."
"Mention not, Khushi. Text me where you have kept his medical form. Now I have to leave your bhaiya is calling me."
"Sure bhabi. Tonight we will Skype. I really want to see Adhwaya."
"And we want to see you guys too. Come back soon. Without you house seems to be empty."
"Pretty soon, bhabi. Bye."
"Bye, Khushi."
***
"Khushi, please listen me."
"No, I don't want to listen you."
"I am sorry, Khushi."
"Sorry, my foot. I am not talking to you."
"Okay, tell me what I have to do to gain your forgiveness."
"Just stay away from me for a while," she said.
"Oh god, Khushi, don't give me this punishment."
"Oh really, what about when you were asking me to leave you for forever?"
"Khushi, that just slipped out of my tongue. I didn't mean to say it."
"No, you meant it and you said it," she retorted.
"Khushi, take a deep breath and calm yourself."
"Arnav, go from here."
"Khushi, I am sorry."
"No, sorry, no forgiveness."
"Baba, galati ho gaye. Khushi, I have to leave to the police station and before that I have to see your happy face not angry."
She relaxed herself and looked at him. "Police station? Why?"
"Yes, for some work, but I will be back soon."
"Can I come back with you?"
"Khushi, you can't. But I will soon be back."
"Okay!"
"So it means you forgave me?"
"No!" she said and left.
He went after her. "Khushi, please."
"No."
He sighed and left as he was getting late.
It was five in the evening, and Khushi looked at her wrist watch. "Khushi, I will be back soon," she said, angrily. "Look at the time now. You see I am defiantly going to talk to you," she muttered and put the clothes, furiously in a bucket that she was done drying.
"What my beautiful wife is muttering?" he whispered in her ear. She got afraid but realising it was Arnav she calmed immediately.
"Hi, Khushi!" he said, when she turned around to face hin. She grinned fake. "Hi."
She purposely let go of the basket of clothes from her hand that landed on his feet.
"Aaahh, Khushi."
"What happen? It hurt?"
He nodded.
"Good!"
He held her by her arms. "Khushi, listen I have to talk to you!"
"Arnav ji, listen, I don't want to talk to you."
"Arnav ji?" he said, questiongly.
"Yes, I will call you Arnav ji."
"Khushi, this is not done."
"It's final."
"Khushi spit the anger."
She wiggled her lips side to side and headed out of the laundry room. "Khushi, listen, baba."
"Arnav," Karan said.
"Yes, Karan."
"Arnav, I have to talk to you. It's important."
Khushi stopped hearing this but in her room she heard her phone ringing. Arnav went to Karan and Khushi rushed in the opposite direction to pick her phone furiously in the room, knowing that it must be Payal's.
"Hello, Payal bhabi, I was waiting for your call," she said.
"Khushi," Payal cried.
Khushi's already furiously beating heartbeat, beat even faster hearing her scared tone. "B-bhabi, what happen?"
"Khushi, Adhwaya!"
"What happen to Adhwaya?" Khushi almost shouted.
"Adhwaya is abducted."
"No!" she shouted, horror.
"Khushi?" Arnav said in fear as he heard Khushi's scream. She cut the phone immediately and ran to Arnav. Arnav too ran towards her.
When he saw her in tears in a distance and rushing towards himself, he increased his pace. Khushi crashed in his arms. "Khushi, what happen?" Why are you crying?" he asked, and pulled away from a hug.
"Adhwaya, he is kidnapped."
Karan stopped in his track.
"Khushi, relax, nothing has happened to Adhwaya!"
"Arnav, Payal bhabi, called. She said our Adhwaya, he is abducted again."
Arnav held her by shoulders to keep her stand upright and cupped her face. "Arnav, our son. Please do something. They will hurt our son."
"Khushi, relax. Nothing will happen to Adhwaya. I am telling you."
"Please, Arnav, do everything and save him."
"Khushi!" he shouted, to get her to her senses, but she was scared to hell. Her heart beat was rapid and blood pressure high.
"Khushi, Adhwaya is not kidnapped. He is in a safe place."
"What?" she asked.
"Yes, he is not abducted. Since we are here and at home we can't trust anyone, me and Karan and had decided to send him to the safe place."
"Where...where is he?"
"Khushi, where ever he is, he is safe."
"Karan, please can you fetch a glass of water?" Arnav said, as he saw him behind him.
Karan nodded and went to grab water. Arnav took Khushi to the room. "Khushi, this was what I wanted to tell you, but you weren't listening."
"Arnav, you aren't saying this to make me feel good."
He shook his head and made her sit in the chair, but she hugged him. "I got so scared."
"Khushi, I have promised that nothing will happen to you, or our son, or anyone in our family," he said and caressed her hair.
"I...I want to see him."
"Khushi, right now, we can't but I promise we soon will, the moment we return home. Khushi, trust me, he is fine."
"I trust you," she said faintly.
On his demand 2 Chapter 9
Chapter 9 (60)
"Why are you so angry, Arnav ji?" she asked, and grinned when he looked at her, to cool down his anger a little. But that only made him more angry. He drove back home at faster speed and not a single word he uttered not even of anger on the way home, all the while Khushi tried everything to calm him. He stopped the car at the main gate of the house and from there he handed his car keys to the security guard so that he could park the car.
Khushi got out of the car and too followed Arnav in a hurry. Security cars stopped at the main gate.
Arnav flew opened his room door and angrily loosened his tie and flung it over his neck and threw it and it landed on the chaise. Then he sat on the chaise to open his shoes.
"Arnav ji..." Khushi said as soon as she entered the room.
"Shut the door!" he ordered.
Khushi closed the door. "Arnav ji, why are you so angry? Do you really think those poor old man and lady could harm us?"
Arnav threw his sock on the floor instead of tugging in his shoes.
"Why the heck you think they might not? And what were you thinking when you decided to have a dinner with them?" he shouted, to emphasise every word, but more than that his anger. "Are problems less that you are creating more? Here you were first scared to come to Darjeeling and all of sudden you were acting like everything was okay with us?"
"Ar-..."
"Shut up, Khushi...For god sake keep your mouth shut at this point," he retorted, he was so angry that he did notmind using harsh words.
Now Khushi trembled seeing raw rage in his eyes.
"You know what? I did a mistake to tell you that I didn't loose my memory. This is the exact reason why I was hiding it from you, and from everyone. Then I thought no actually you are the one who deserved to know it, no, how could I forget that you have a habit of say and do things in excitement."
"I am sorry..."
"Please, Khushi, do me and yourself a favour, don't do anything unless you are told to, I don't care about my life but yours and our son and my family's. We have already gone through a lot for the freakish past two years. So stop acying like kids. And you asked whay happened? You even know what this dinner can cause us if they are no sober people? Why even I am complaining when it was all my mistake," he said and left to the washroom.
"Arnav ji, please listen to me once. I am sorry!"
Door shut with a loud bang, Khushi shuddered. She banged on the door with a hope he would listen her. "Arnav ji, please forgive me. I promise I won't do this mistake again."
Arnav shut his eyes as he kept both his hands on the countertop, his anger not at all affected by her pleas. "Khushi, right now just leave."
"Arnav ji, not until you come out."
"Khushi, GO. SLEEP. NOW."
"Ar..."
"I said, leave!"
Khushi against her wish, walked backwards towards the bed and came to stop as her back hit the bed pillar. Then she slowly turned to sit down. Her eyes were welled up. When she heard the door knob turned she loooked at Arnav.
"Arnav ji!"
"You should sleep, Khushi," his voice was much more calm.
"Arnav ji, I am sorry."
"It's alright, Khushi. Next time please be careful."
"I will, but why you sound still so mad?"
"Khushi, I am not mad anymore, but tired."
She held her ear and stood up. "I am sorry, Arnav ji."
Arnav opened up his arms and Khushi rushed to melt in them. "I am sorry, Khushi, I am so tensed right now thwt nothing is making sense to me."
"Arnav ji, I was only trying to act normal. So that you believe that I am not stressed out. I know as long as you are with me nothing can happen to me or any of our close ones. But I think I went overboard with it."
Arnav rested his chin on her head. "Khushi, as long as I don't know who is doing all this we can't take things easily. We can't trust anyone. Especially strangers."
"I won't do anything stupid like that, I promise!"
"It's alright now, stop crying."
He pulled away from the hug. "Go and wash you face first. I will be back soon."
"Where are you going?"
"Have to talk to Karan about something, it will not take long."
She nodded, and Arnav left to talk to Karan.

"Hello, hi, how are you?"
Anonymous: I am good. I have heard, he had come?"
"Yes, you have heard it right. His wife was also with him."
Anonymous: Hmm...Didn't you try to stop them and stay for a little longer?
"I tried my best, but after having dinner, they left. Arnav seemed to be in a hurry, his wife was much more comfortable. As if she was not afraid of anything. She herself convinced him to have a dinner."
Anonymous: Seems she isn't careful.
"Yes, even I found out that."
Anonymous: Has he really lost his memory?
"Yes, when I asked were they husband wife, Arnav seemed to be angry. I assume he has really lost his memory."
Anonymous: Do one thing, leave this place as soon as possible.
"Why?"
Anonymous: Chances are Arnav will try to find out if you are potentially harmful to him, if anybody came to know who we are we will be in a problem.
"So you know where we would go? And when you are coming?"
Anonymous: I am coming now, and then we shall decide where you both will go.
"How we will see their activity?"
Anonymous: Don't you worry about that. It's not your job. I just wanted to make sure he isn't pretending of to have memory loss. That our job is done.
"Also, we won't be able to do anything. There is a lot of security."
Anonymous: That's what I am saying. If they came to know about me, you will be the first from whom they will come to know from.
"Okay, you come then we will talk. This time I promise it's the end of them."
Anonymous: End.

"How is it even possible? Just shut up..." Karan shouted angrily on phone at someone and hung up the phone. "Crap."
Arnav hurried to him.
"Karan, what happened?"
"Arnav, you here. I was going to call you."
"But what happen? Why are you so angry?"
"Arnav, our police officer were taking Lavanya to the central jail from the Delhi jail and from there she fled away."
"What? How is it even possible?" Arnav asked in disbelief.
"Arnav, that's what I am thinking. Despite of having lot of security, this happened."
Arnav raked his hand in his hair. "So this means Lavanya...?"
"Yes, Arnav, Lavanya. If she can fled despite of having so much of security around her it means she is the one who is a danger for you and Khushi. And it is quite possible someone has helped her. Because police van were captured and all of the police officers were killed and that's when she escaped."
"Great!" he said. "So, this is what you will be saying to everyone at home."
"Yes, until everything has the idea that she has fled the jail, lavanya will be kept in the central jail. Then we can use her to know what exactly she wants. Our eyes are on her. Anyways, you do one thing, go and sleep. And tell me what are your plans for tomorrow."
"Yeah, good night, Karan."
"Good night, Arnav."

Arnav went to Khushi as she was now standing in the balcony and staring at the large dark misty mountains in a distance. Arnav took her shawl from the cupboard and wrapped around her shoulders.
"You have come!" she said, as she looked at him, as he rested his chin on her shoulder and hugged her from behind.
"Hmm."
He stood straight now and Khushi leant against him. "It feels like nothing bad happened."
"It didn't. Even then it was full of hard times."
"Arnav ji, everything will be okay."
This statement was all of sudden so strange and too foreign for him. His childhood had not been that hard when it came to supporting his sister and brother alone after been kicked out of the house and then all together his extended family, then now is, not knowing who is 24 hours planning to kill him.
After long silence Khushi only heard his breathing, she asked, "what are you thinking, Arnav ji?"
He didn't want to say anything to make her worry when already he had been too angry on her. "Something very special."
A little smile, full of glow, shined on her face. "And what is it?"
"Hmm...Weather is cold, how about...?"
Khushi turned around still being circled around Arnav's arms. "Wait...If you are thinking what I am assuming, then no. You have already been too lovey dovey already."
He furrowed his eyebrows. "Did we have a coffee lately?" he asked.
Her face turned crimson red at the speed of light, her cheeks were warmed by rushing blood through her blood vessels. "Coffee?...I thought."
"What did you think, Khushi?" he asked, as he was too innocent and he didn't know whwt exactly she was talking about.
"Nothing!" she blushed.
"Khushi, is there anything that you wanted to signal me about?"
"Arnav ji, please!"
"Khushi ji, please what? Tell me what you were talking about."
"Nothing. Let me go. I go and get a cup of coffee for us."
"But on one condition."
"What is it?"
"Call me, Arnav!"
"Again?"
"Yes, it sounds too romantic to hear my name from your mouth, without ji."
"Please, Arnav ji, let me go."
"Arnav..."
Khushi sighed, but she knew it was hard to practice to call him just by his first name. She tried.
"Arnav."
Arnav smiled.
"So, I hope I would hear Arnav from now onwards."
She looked down and blushed and played with the button of his shirt. "Yes, Ar...Arnav."
Seeing him softly laugh she smiled as well. She grabbed the back of his head and rose on her toes and kissed him briefly.
"I really missed you, Arnav," she said. A pain in her eyes made him more determined to find out the culprit faster so that he could make him pay for every little pain that his loved ones went through. He kissed her back. "I missed you too, Khushi."
