On his demand part 39

Chapter 39

Gun fell from Khushi's hand and her gaze was fixed on Rahul as he laid dead. Her soul was so much at peace. She wanted him to die a dog death and just looking at him, it was evident that he indeed had died a worst death.

For forever, the virus that was infecting their lives was eroded. And finally seeing him dead, her most of the fears had vanished.

Arnav was literally shocked to look at her. "How did she get here?" he thought.

Then he saw police man came rushing, shortly after bhua ji stood beside Khushi to give her support. "He deserved death," she said. "I hope you rot in hell, Rahul," was bhuaji's last wish for him.

Arnav started walking towards Khushi, his legs were giving out. Broken knee ached terribly and he couldn't breath, he could feel his broken ribs rubbing against each other giving him unbearable pain. But for Khushi he had to held himself, as long as he was standing in front of her, he had to be strong. He accumulated all the will power.

Akaash immediately stood by his side. Arnav put his hand on Akaash's shoulder and he helped him to walk to Khushi.

He couldn't even look at her. Sheer pain was written on her face. Her face pale. Her wounds were still raw and fresh.

"She was going to be abducted by Rahul's men, but her bhua ji called us on time," policeman informed when Karan asked, how did she get their at first place?

"And when she came to know you were kidnapped too, she wanted to come here," he added. "I am sorry, we couldn't say no to her."

"Take his body," Karan commanded as he jolted his head towards Rahul's dead body.

"Yes, sir!" Policeman said and he asked his other constables to help him.

Both Arnav and Khushi fell on their knees, as they stood right in front of each other and tears slipped down their eyes.

"I couldn't able to save our baby, Khu..." he muttered absentmindedly.

Words itself wrenched his heart. Khushi looked at him through teary eyes his condition knifed her heart. Behind the blood, it was hard to see his face.

"I couldn't able to save..." he repeated, however, again his words were chocked.

Khushi lifted her hand towards him, placed it on his shoulder and his cries were unstoppable.

"Nothing has happened to our baby," she said.

Arnav looked at her in shock and utter surprise. "Our baby is safe and sound," she repeated.

She was deep in shock, or she didn't know she had miscarriage. He looked at bhua ji and she shook her head implying she didn't know about her miscarriage. "Khushi, please listen me first," he said as he looked back at her.

"Arnav ji what are you saying?" she said and took his hand in hers. "I am saying you nothing has happened to our baby."

Arnav cupped her face. "Khushi it's all my mistake," he winced. It was him who could tell how much he hated to say that. He broke his promises.

"Arnav babua," bhua ji said as she knelt on her knees. "Don't, please don't say that it was your mistake. Whatever happened was not in your hands, it was not in anybody's hands," she tried to explain.

Khushi got up as she looked at them in disbelief. It can't be true she thought. She was lifeless. Her baby was gone, no. She could feel her baby inside her. The same baby that few hours ago, she had seen.

"He...he took our baby..." she muttered. Arnav couldn't tell whether that was a statement or a question. Whether she wanted to know or she knew her baby was snatched away from her.

Arnav couldn't say anything and Khushi was shocked. The enemy from their life was gone, but he had taken their everything away from them.

In the end he still won? He managed to take their happiness.

She didn't know it would be snatched from her. "Arnav ji, we had seen our baby, together, didn't we?" she asked. "You had said, you wanted to talk to him, didn't you? Your baby is still waiting for you, he so wanted to talk to you. For a long time you didn't talk to him, he might get angry," she said trying to give herself false hopes. But to her they were true. Her baby was still alive in her, she thought.

"Khushi," Arnav said as he stood up on his feet with difficulty.

Khushi didn't hear him as she started walking backwards.

Arnav started taking step forward, towards her, ignoring the pain completely. He mustered all the energy from inside and walked faster to reach her.

He held her by her shoulder and himself stood in front of her. He called her, but she paid no attention and removed his hand away from her shoulder.

His heart was completely broken now.

"She will never be happy," Anjali's said word echoed in her mind. Her heated words buzzed in her brain. Stabbing her heart every moment. Hitting the walls of her brain, making her aware of her every pain.

Her one horrible dream had come true. He had said he will take her baby away from her and he did?

She remembered talking to Anjali, then all of sudden the men coming into her ward and one of them punched her stomach.

She remembered.

Their face were dark, their eyes resembled evil. They killed her baby, she remembered that too. Everything was coming in her mind, that she had forgotten.

Arnav looked at the ground, but he shook his numbness away. He again moved towards her.

Khushi was walking somewhere, to where, she had no idea.

"Khushi listen me," Arnav's voice was dark now. He shook her by her shoulder.

"You have to listen me, Khushi," she heard him saying. But her mind was not focusing on anything. She was numb, as she was paralyzed.

She wasn't even crying anymore.

Arnav immediately hugged her. "Khushi, I am sorry. But our baby is no more," he disclosed, keeling stone on his heart.

Her eyes had widened as she hadn't expected to hear this from him. But she made no effort to react; in fact, she couldn't.

Whole family came forward. All of their eyes moist. Her heart sank in an uncomfortable sadness. She could only see sorry faces. Arnav's sobs shook her.

"Bhai," Akaash said. His voice was broken.

He pulled away from the hug still looking at Khushi. Khushi placed her hand on her stomach.

"Please Arnav ji say this is not right," she finally spoke.

Arnav felt as his heart was ripped out of his body. He had no positive answers that she would have liked to hear.

"I am sorry, Khushi."

Her eyes were still wide opened in shock.

"You are lying, aren't you? Please Arnav ji don't joke with me."

Arnav shook his head. "Khushi everything will be fine."

She stilled once again.

"I couldn't able to save our baby, Khushi."

Her world fell apart and came to an abrupt stop. Her mind went blank as every thing blackened in front of her eyes.

Arnav shout horror. "Khushi."

He caught her in his arms. "Khushi," he shook her. But there was no response from her lean body.

***
Immediately after Khushi collapsed, Arnav himself couldn't muster any more energy. They both were rushed to hospital.

Both in serious conditions. Doctors had told the family that they will be kept under 24 observation.

But the problem wasn't their physical conditions, but mental and emotional. They might fight the physical pains, but emotional pains, leaves lifelong scars. There was a big void created in their lives with their baby taken away from them, for forever. At the moment, there was no light in their world. Only dark.

***
"Payal bitiya you go home kids have been home," Mama ji said. "They are really scared."

"But Khushi."

"Payal you don't worry we are here," Akaash said.

"Mom is taking care of Anjali di, so she won't be able to look after kids. Even Nani needs you there."

"Let's go bhabi," Dhruv said. "I drop you home."

Payal nodded.

"Akaash, please when Khushi revives please let me know."

"I will, you don't worry," Akaash reassured.

***
After 14 hours Arnav had revived from his unconscious state, however, his state was still very fragile. Still, he had been ignoring. The very first question he had asked his doctor was, "how was Khushi?"

Doctor chopra had told him that she still hadn't come out of her unconscious state. So that they can't tell much about her health. "But there is nothing to worry about, Mr. Raizada. In few hours, she will be okay."

He was shaking his head, fresh tears had formed in his eyes.

"Mr. Raizada I send Mr. Akaash inside," Dr. Chopra said and exited out of the ward.

"Mr. Akaash you may go inside."

"Thank you so much doctor," Akaash said. "Payal, I will be back," he said and got inside the ward immediately.

***
"Bhai," he said as he entered into the ward and took a seat close to his bed.

"Bhai, how are you?" he asked, even knowing the answer. How he could be alright, after whatever has happened in just few hours. It felt like a dream, a dark dream, but it was real, very real.

A reality that no one had expected.

"Bhai, whatever happened today was something that we never expected," he started off and looked downwards at his joined hand.

"Akaash, I don't know how I will make everything," Arnav said, his voice was broken that wrenched Akaash's heart. He scrunched his eyes, thankfully he was wearing his glasses, that might somehow help to hide the emotions. After few minutes, when he had his emotions in check he spoke up.

"Bhai you are not alone. We all are with you, and Khushi," he assured him. "We can't undo what already had happened. But we can make sure everything is good onwards. Bhai Khushi needs you; especially, now. For her we all have to be strong."

"What doctors are saying about her health?" he asked.

"Bhai, she is in shock. Doctor Sharma said it will take her time to overcome this loss. Nonetheless, she will be fine. She has to be fine. We will make sure she gets fine."

"We have to think what we should do next. But at the moment please take care of yourself. If Khushi will see you broken she might not be able to take this another beat."

"Rest you don't worry, everything will be alright now, bhai, we all will assure that nothing wrong happens with our family."

Akaash said all he had to, the only support he could give to Arnav at this moment. He was aware that Arnav is too broken, but for Khushi he had to be strong. And for the two of them, Arnav and Khushi, the whole family had to be strong.

"Bhai, it's a shame that we couldn't able to do anything," Akaash thought. He moved his face away from Arnav, who really wasn't looking at him thought, to wipe the tear away from his eyes.

He could tell looking at him that he was angry at himself.

"I am sorry, I couldn't become a helping hand when you, and Khushi needed me. Please bhai forgive me. But this is the promise that I will left no stone unturned to keep away any evil eye," Akaash promised himself.

"Even if it means I have to give my own life. I will make sure you guys get every happiness in your life. But this time just forgive me, one last time, please," he said as he looked at him.

"Bhai I will be back," he immediately got up and left the ward. As soon as he stood outside, tears flowed down his eyes.

Payal came rushing and hugged him. "Payal, this time again I couldn't able to do anything," he weld.

"Please gather yourself, Akaash," Payal whispered in tears.

"I will never forgive myself for this," he blurted. "Never."

"Akaash it's not only your mistake, but ours too," she told him. "Akaash for Arnav and Khushi we all have to be strong. We couldn't help Khushi save her child, but we can help them to get out of the worst time. We have to be their support, if we will cry like this who will take care of both of them.

Payal herself was in no condition to say anything, but she held herself strong enough to support Akaash.

"Payal I can't see bhai in this condition. After such a long time, he had gotten some happiness that too..."

She hushed him, "Akaash please come sit here," she said and made him sit in the chair.

"Cry will not solve anything, regret will do no good, we all can blame each other, but it will do no good to either Arnav, Khushi or us. We have to think positive. They can make a fresh, new start and we will become part of it."

"Okay?" she asked as she nodded her head. "Payal," he said and again hugged her. "Evil is gone away from our lives, Akaash. For forever. We will start fresh," she said and rubbed his back.

***At Raizada Mansion***
"Ma, please eat something," Mami ji said, but Nani refused. "Ma you haven't eaten anything for hours."

"How can I eat, Manorama, how can I eat? My kids are in the hospital," Nani cried.

"They have gone through such a bad phase, and we just couldn't do anything. Just watched them as life let them down."

Mami set the plate on the bed. She rubbed Nani's hand. "Ma," she spoke, her voice was shaky. As she tried harder to held her tears at the back of her eyes.

"Ma I know our kids has gone thought the worst..."

"Why, why god is being so cruel to them?" Nani asked. "What sin they have done, that they are getting such a worst punishment?"

"Ma, they have done nothing wrong. They are the poor souls. And you say god test their best kids, that's what has happened to them..."

"No, Manorama, no..." Nani was shaking his head.

"Ma, please. Try to be strong, if we will behave this way, then who will take care of them. We are their support system."

"And you only say that we all have to go through the pain that is written in our fates. I know from now onwards everything will be fine. Please ma eat something," mami said and made her eat.

***At the hospital***
"Has ma eaten anything?" Mama ji asked.

"Just a little bit,"Mami ji said.

"What about others?"

"Not really. Everyone has lost their appetite. Even Gavy and Adi hasn't eaten much. They were asking where chote, and Khushi was. They wanted to meet them. But how could I tell them..." she immediately stopped.

Mama ji kept his hand on his shoulder and hugged her.

"Everything will be fine, Manorama. Everything will be fine."

Mami ji broke the hug. "What did doctors say about chote and Khushi?" she asked as she wiped her tears.

"Chote has gone through lot of damage. Few of his bones are broken. Even his ribcage had been injured. Last night he had troubled breathing, so doctors had to put him in artificial oxygen.

"That Rahul will rot in hell," Mami ji cried.

"He will," mama ji said and pulled her again in a side hug.

"Anjali bitiya, how is she doing?"

"She has been really disturbed, so ma decided to stay back with her, even La is with her," she told him.

"When we go in, we have to make sure we act strong," Mama ji said to the mami, Payal, Akaash and Dhruv.

They nodded their head. "We will try our best," Akaash said.

"What did doctor say we can meet chote and Khushi?" Mama ji asked Dhruv.

"We aren't allowed to meet them. Khushi bhabi is still unconscious doctor Sharma said. For a brief moment she was awoke, but she was quite disturbed. Then doctors again had to put her to sleep. And bhai had said before anybody else, he wants to meet Khushi."

"Yes, at this point nobody else could provide support that they need at the moment."

"But I am afraid if bhai will be able to be fit to meet her. His own condition is not good at all."

"God will make everything alright. I know for Khushi bitiya, chote will do anything and we are here," mama ji said, weighing his own said words, it was easier said than done. However, faith was there that they all could start fresh.
